Eastern quolls are carnivorous, as small as a house cat, and can scurry down rabbit warrens to hunt, but sadly they became extinct in Victoria in the 1950s. ​
​
There is good news though. These spotty cuties still roam free in Tasmania. ​
​
And there is hope closer to home, a breeding program in captivity has been running at the Royal Mail Hotel for fifteen years, and they have again been successful with a litter of six black spotty eastern quoll joeys.
